The Camaro SSX is also equipped with a carbon-fiber hood and front fenders. Engine enhancements include a new camshaft, cylinder heads and dry-sump oiling system for the stock LS3 6.2-liter V-8, which is now mated to a Tremec 6-speed fitted with a Corvette ZR1 twin-disc clutch plate. The powerplant now breathes through low-restriction intake and exhaust systems. The brakes have been upgraded to include 6-piston front/4-piston rear calipers clamping on rotors that have been drilled and slotted.
Exterior modifications include carbon fiber aero parts – front splitter and adjustable rear wing – lightweight carbon fiber body panels, revised lower grille and unique brake cooling ducts. Also helping in weight reduction is the removal of the production car’s sound-deadening material, carpeting and rear seat. The Chevrolet Camaro SSX Track Car Concept features a low-gloss Icy White Metallic exterior paint with the carbon aero parts, door graphics/racing number and red details. it also rides on dedicated track wheels and tires.
2011 Camaro SSX’s interior features include: gray interior with red stitching on the seat, steering wheel, door panels, console lid, shifter boot, shift knob and headrest, red instrument cluster and accent lighting, chevrolet accessory interior trim kit in Silver Ice, chevrolet accessory floor mats with red border and silver Camaro lettering, footwell and cupholder lighting.
